Dave Paulson is presently Executive Vice President, Head of Wholesale Banking at United Bank MBA from Cornell University; BA-Political Science/BA-International Economics from University of Connecticut

32-year corporate and commercial banker operating throughout the eastern United States with a national reputation for successfully building commercial banking teams and leading commercial growth.

Main responsibilities at United Bank include leading the Bank’s commercial banking, commercial real estate, business banking and cash management lines of business. Keenly focused on identifying expansion opportunities; product/technology solutions and enhancements, recruiting/conducting lift outs of commercial/middle market lending teams and specialty practice groups; and bolstering the Bank’s sound organic growth strategy.

Prior to joining United Bank, employed with Santander Bank N.A., serving as Managing Director and Commercial Banking Executive Vice President. Managed 13 geographically diverse Middle Market and Business Banking teams in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. Led a team of 170 full time employees that included relationship managers, portfolio managers and support staff.

Preceding Santander, Paulson served as SVP-Regional Vice President –Commercial Banking for Wells Fargo where he led their Greater Washington, D.C. Commercial Banking region, which included the Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland and the District of Columbia, one of Wells Fargo’s largest and most successful corporate and commercial banking markets, as well as running the Government Contracting practice nationally.

Paulson also spent six years as the Commercial Banking Director, Senior Vice President for Wachovia Bank, responsible for leading the commercial banking efforts in New England and portions of New York. Key accomplishments included the de novo entry into northern New England and the build out of new middle market commercial banking teams that covered the entire region.
